1. Who we are

FIND Glaze is operated by Clayform, based in Denmark (EU). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

If you have questions about how we handle your data, please contact us at the email above. You can also contact the Danish Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) at https://www.datatilsynet.dk if you wish to lodge a complaint.

2. What data we collect and why

2.1 Account data

When you create an account, we collect:

  • - Email address (account authentication, verification emails, password reset)

  • - Display name (personalizing your experience)

  • - Studio name (profile display)

  • - Authentication provider (Google, Apple, GitHub) for social account linking

Legal basis: Contract performance (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).

You can use FIND Glaze without creating an account. If you do not sign in, no account data is collected.

2.2 Glaze images you analyze

When you submit a photo for glaze analysis, that image is sent to Google Gemini AI to identify glaze ingredients and generate a recipe. The image is processed in transit and is not stored on Clayform’s servers for the purpose of analysis.

If you are signed in, your uploaded images may also be stored in your personal file storage on our servers (Firebase Storage), scoped exclusively to your account.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

2.3 Recipes and saved data

Glaze recipes derived from your images, including ingredient lists, kiln schedules, safety reports, and confidence scores, are stored:

  • - Locally on your device (AsyncStorage), including without an account

  • - On our servers (Firebase Firestore, scoped to your account UID) only if you are signed in

2.4 Community-shared content

If you choose to share a recipe with the Clayform community, that recipe (name, ingredients, description, and any associated image) becomes visible to other users. You can retract a share at any time. Retracted content is removed from community view; archived copies may be retained briefly for moderation purposes.

2.5 Transactional emails

When you sign up with email, we send a verification message from noreply@clayform.dk. After your email is verified, we send a one-time welcome confirmation. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit, separate consent.

2.6 Technical and usage data

We use Sentry for crash reporting and error logging. Sentry may collect anonymized device and error information to help diagnose bugs. No personally identifiable information is intentionally included in crash reports.

3. Data we do not collect

  • - Location data (GPS, IP-based, or otherwise)

  • - Precise device identifiers (IDFA, GAID)

  • - Payment information

  • - Health or biometric data

  • - Cross-app tracking data

4. How long we keep your data

  • - Account profile (name, email, studio): Until account deletion

  • - Saved recipes and images: Until account deletion

  • - Firestore user document: Until account deletion

  • - Transactional email logs: 90 days

  • - Crash reports (Sentry): 90 days

When you delete your account through the app, all Firestore data, Firebase Storage files, and your Firebase Auth record are permanently erased in the same request. Local device data is also cleared at that point.

5. Third-party processors

We use the following sub-processors as needed to provide the service:

  • - Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Functions, Storage): authentication, cloud database, backend compute, file storage

  • - Google Gemini API: AI glaze image analysis

  • - Google OAuth: social sign-in

  • - Apple (Sign in with Apple): social sign-in

  • - GitHub OAuth: social sign-in

  • - One.com SMTP: transactional email delivery

  • - Sentry: crash reporting and error telemetry

  • - Expo / EAS: app distribution and OTA updates

Some providers may process data in the United States. Where relevant, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

6. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have rights including:

  • - Access (Art. 15)

  • - Rectification (Art. 16)

  • - Erasure (Art. 17)

  • - Data portability (Art. 20)

  • - Object / withdraw consent (Art. 21, 7(3))

  • - Lodge a complaint with Datatilsynet

7. Children

FIND Glaze is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. AI-generated results — important notice

Safety reports, food-safety assessments, kiln schedules, and ingredient confidence scores are AI-generated estimates only. They are not professional safety certifications. Always verify results with a qualified ceramicist before firing.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes are reflected by updating the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
